The Language Resource Centre at Newcastle University has a small team in place, which will be available from Mid-January for virtual school visits, synchronous and asynchronous to promote language learning, and inter-cultural activities in line with the Routes into Languages aims. Who's got talent?

 For primary schools who can dance, sing, mime, spin a good yarn, act, or anything else. Come and showcase your talents with schools from across the North East.

 Each school can bring up to 15 pupils and will be invited to spend 5 minutes on stage impressing the audience with their intercultural X-Factor.

Using Klapisch's 2002 film L'Auberge Espagnol (Pot Luck) as a focus text, this event addresses themes including identity, relationships, and young people in contemporary European culture and society. The film will also be used as a basis for speaking and listening exercises, discussion and role-play, providing lots of opportunities to practice your French. Resources are provided. Led by Dr Sarah Leahy, Newcastle University.

Pupils will work with native speakers of their target language to write
and produce their own storyboards. They'll join us in the award winning
Open Access Centre of Newcastle University to use the latest on-line
resources and SANAKO language labs.
Other activities include a campus tour, Q&A sessions with student
ambassadors and a taster session in a new language.

Programme: 

Taster sessions may include Chinese, Japanese, Turkish, Italian, German
