Translation Workshop for Schools
Translation today is a diverse, dynamic and rewarding profession. The National Network for Translation invites A-level and AS-level students to attend a hands-on workshop and learn more about translation as a career. The workshops will be led by experienced professional translators. The event is hosted by the University of Portsmouth.
Date: Tuesday 25 January 2010
Time: 1400-1645.
Venue: Park Building, University of Portsmouth
Cost: There is no charge for this event. Booking is required.
Languages available: Spanish, German, French. An extra workshop is available, subject to interest, in French, Italian or a 'multilingual' format (no specific language knowledge necessary).

2.00-2.15 Welcome
2.15-3.50 Translation workshops in small groups
3.50-4.10 Refreshments and a chance to chat to the translators
4.10-4.30 Plenary talk: Careers in Translation
4.30-4.45 Question and answer session
4.45pm Close of workshop
Numbers are limited to 25 participants per workshop. For more information about the workshop, or to book places, contact Dr Carol O’Sullivan at carol.osullivan@port.ac.uk. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Workshops will run subject to demand.
