HOME Schools and Colleges Programme is sponsored by Routes into Languages North West.. This is a year-round education programme, which uses film, moving image and contemporary art to enrich students’ learning and bring innovation to the classroom. Throughout the year we have a variety of MFL study sessions specially programmed to support GCSE, AS and A2 students of French, German, Spanish, Arabic and Urdu, all led by native language speakers.

Each study session uses film as an exciting and accessible way to encourage students to use their language skills. Students will enjoy a specially selected film, screened in the target language with English subtitles. Sessions are supported by contextualising introductions, which provide information about the themes and characters of the film along with information about the film's director and place within film history and culture. Following the film, students complete language exercises based on the film using their new vocabulary.

Films are selected to complement GCSE, AS and A2 specifications and provide excellent material for topic-based work and oral exam preparation.
