Launch of the National Spelling Bee Competition and new Online Resource

Today we launch the National Spelling Bee Competition where pupils in Year 7 from across Wales compete in French, German, Spanish and Welsh Second Language for the title of National Spelling Bee Champion 2014. This year is particularly exciting as a range of resources to support students who are studying these languages and competing in the National Spelling Bee Competition have been developed and can be found by visiting our new Spelling Bee Website.

 

Created by the Educational Resources Department at the WJEC for Routes into Language Cymru, they include alphabet activities in the target language, word games and spelling tests that aim to improve spelling, encourage correct pronunciation and to raise confidence levels. There is also a section where pupils can practice as if competing.

 

To register for the competition, please click on the Teacher's Resources and Documents and choose Spelling Bee Registration Form 2013-14. Please send all registrations to the following address:
