The North West University Language Alliance (NWULA) invites you to attend the third “Languages NoW!” event on Wednesday 7th January 2009.

Languages NoW! is designed to encourage year 9 pupils to consider languages when choosing their GCSE options. The day will illustrate the advantages of studying foreign languages, including looking at the personal and professional benefits of language learning. During the event students will attend one seminar entitled “Why Study Languages” and two workshop sessions. The pupils will all get a chance to participate in a language taster to try out a language they have not learnt before. They will also meet with native speakers of the language they are currently learning in school and will have a chance to participate in a question and answer session to practice their language skills.

This event is free of charge and it is anticipated that it will be booked up quickly. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so please reserve your places as soon as possible by sending the attached form directly to Liverpool John Moores Univerity. Some schools have already reserved places as they were unable to attend last year’s event in Lancaster, so places will fill up quickly. As space within the university is limited we have to cap the number of students per school at 20. Please refer to the attached booking form for details for applying.
