This scheme will involve Ambassadors acting as tutors, supporting language teachers during class. Secondary schools will be able to apply to receive up to a maximum of 4 tutors and discuss a delivery plan with our Capital L Project Manager. Schools will allocate a coordinator to liaise with Capital L, to supervise tutors, to provide monthly reports on attendance and to help with evaluation.

The delivery plan will include information on whether tutors will, for example, support pupils to develop specific skills (oral skills, essay writing, grammar), and/or work with pupils on a one-to-one basis, with groups or the whole class.

The overall aims and objectives are:
• To increase pupils’ confidence in their language skills
• To increase pupils’ motivation for studying languages
• To raise achievement in languages
• To raise the profile of languages at secondary schools
• To raise secondary school pupils’ awareness for language studying at university
• Ambassadors will develop a range of employability skills including coaching, motivating, and leadership skills
