Italian Women on Screen
Wednesday 12th May - Wednesday 23rd June (with no class on Wed 2nd June)

Room 238, Geoffrey Manton Building, All Saints Campus

14.00 - 16.00

Through past and contemporary examples of the work of Italian actresses and female film directors, we will explore some aspects of the changing social background of Italy since the late 1950s and 1960s and how the role of women has evolved and adapted in response to those changes. The individual sessions will provide ample opportunities for discussion.

This six-week course is an ideal follow-up to the one already run by Adalgisa Serio at the Cornerhouse cinema. However, attendance on the previous course is not a prerequisite.

Two hours per week for six weeks (12 hrs in total)

Full fee: £100.00

Concessionary fee: £75.00 (MMU staff, students, senior citizens, unwaged)

Deadline for enrolment: Tuesday 4th May 2010

 How do I enrol?
Print out a copy of the enrolment form and fill it in. You can send your form by post or fax. Alternatively, you can scan your form and return it by e-mail. Full joining details will be sent to you at least 7 days prior to the course. This will be done via the e-mail address you have provided; if you do not have an e-mail address we will contact you via post.

Please note that places on courses are limited and are booked on a first-come first-served basis, so we advise you to book early to avoid disappointment. Courses may be cancelled if demand is not sufficient to run the course.

How do I pay?
Payment can be made in one of the following ways:

By Cheque
Complete the enrolment form and return it with a cheque for the correct fee, made payable to Manchester Metropolitan University.

By credit/debit card
Fill in your credit/debit card details on the enrolment form and send it back. We can accept the following credit cards: Visa/Maestro/Mastercard/Delta.

Refunds and Cancellations
Cancellations are permitted up to 10 days before the start of a course, subject to a £25 cancellation fee. Refunds will not be made for cancellations less than 10 days before the start of a course unless we are able to fill the place with another student. Inability to attend due to illness, personal or professional commitments does not entitle you to a refund; however in such cases we will consider all the circumstances and take such action as we consider to be fair and reasonable.

Cancellation by Us
All courses have minimum attendance levels and may be subject to cancellation in situations where insufficient bookings are received. Whilst we make every effort to avoid this situation, should it arise you will be entitled to a full refund of any fees paid or have the option to transfer onto a different course. We will not be held liable however for any other losses incurred as a consequence.
In the unlikely circumstances that an individual class has to be postponed due to staff illness or any other reason for which we are responsible, we will make every reasonable effort to reschedule or add the missed hours onto the remaining classes in the course. Where this causes difficulty, you are encouraged to contact us to discuss options.
