The Bangladesh Students’ Society (BSS) at the University of Manchester are observing International Mother Languages Day and Martyr’s Day of Bangladesh

Date: 21st February 2011

Time: 4 pm

Venue: Club Academy at the University of Manchester Student’s Union (UMSU).

The key part of the observation is the discussion program which will be followed by a small cultural program and a debate competition.

Jocelyn Wyburd, Executive Director of the Manchester University Language Centre and partner of Routes into Languages will speak about the importance of Mother Tongue languages and the work that Routes into Languages North West are doing to support heritage languages across the region.

Samuel Harris from the International Society of the University will be present among the speakers.
