This workshop is for both people new to creating online learning materials and for more experienced developers. It will involve consideration of what makes effective online learning materials, and will introduce an easy-to-use, free tool for creating your own online learning activities, the LOC tool (Learning Object Creator). This tool was designed by teachers, for teachers and has built-in advice and guidance. The tool is used by teachers of different languages, and other subjects, across the UK. The workshop will include discussion about good teaching practice with technology, and hands-on practice using the LOC tool to create a learning activity. At the close of the session, participants will be shown how to publish their work on the web through the LOC website or through a website called ‘The LanguageBox.’
