Calling all linguists! In the run-up to London 2012 we are holding an Olympics-themed art competition with a twist! Entering is simple – all you need to do is choose a word relating to the Olympic Games, translate it into a foreign language of your choice and then illustrate it. Prizes will be awarded to the best piece of artwork and the most imaginative word, so get your thinking caps on!

 

RULES

  • One word (and its article if appropriate) per page;

 

  • Your chosen word must appear in your artwork;

 

  • Illustrations to be done by hand;

 

  • Name, school and year group should be written on the front of your artwork your teacher’s name and email address should be written on the back;

 

  • Up to two entries per person;

 

  • Winners will need to attend the prize-giving ceremony on Friday 27th April at the University of Brighton.

 

The closing date for entries is midday on Friday 20th April. Artwork will be judged during the following week and winners will be notified by email by Tuesday 24th April. All artwork received will be displayed at the University of Brighton on Friday 27th April during the award ceremony.
