Winners of the school-wide Spelling Bee competitions will join us for the Regional Spelling Bee Final.
The competition will be held at Manchester Metropolitan University and will see the region's top spellers in foreign language battling out for a place in the National Final, which will be held in Cambridge in July 2011.
Winners will be presented with trophies, with certificates for the runners up.
2.30 – 3.00pm: Arrival and Registration, Geoffrey Manton Building
3.00 – 4.00pm: Round One (part a) for French pupils
3.15 – 4.00pm: Round One for Spanish and German pupils
4.00 – 4.45pm: Cultural workshops for German and Spanish pupils (e.g. Arabic dance / Chinese paper-folding)
4.00 – 4.45pm: Round One (part b) for French pupils
4.45 – 5.00pm: Break and refreshments, GM foyer (Extra guests can arrive during this time)
5.00 – 5.10pm: Address from Dr Sharon Handley / Ameeta Richardson, Routes into Languages North West
5.10 – 5.45pm – Round Two (French, German & Spanish)
5.45 – 6.00pm: Prize-giving and Close
