Our Student Ambassador Team welcomes students from Erasmus programmes, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses. We even have Young Leaders from local VI forms for the Annual Festival of International Culture.

They bravely venture into schools around the region armed with presentations, freebies, and endless enthusiasm for language learning. They are fantastic role models for younger pupils with questions about careers, language study and the mysteries of university life. Whether leading enrichment activities in class, chatting with small groups of pupils, or giving whole year assemblies the ambassadors can help promote languages in your school too!

• Coordinates language events between local schools and the University of Durham

• Deals with any administration thrown her way

• Travels to foreign climes

•  manages the Open Access Centre- a cross-faculty service providing language learning resources for around 3,000 users
•  manages provision for AV teaching for the School of Modern Languages and INTO

• scuba dives, cycles, climbs hills
• reads crime novels
• eats and drinks nice things in good places
