Starting work as a Translator or Interpreter
7 June 2008
The event was organised jointly by ITI and the University of Westminster and was aimed at anyone who was interested in working as a translator or interpreter but was unsure how to start. The one-day seminar covered the qualities and skills that were needed to work as a translator or interpreter, how to get organised, breaking through the ‘no experience = no work’ barrier, areas where language skills were in demand and new niches to explore.
The event was attended by 108 students and 81 other participants. The feedback was extremely positive, with most participants stating that the event had encouraged them to become a translator/interpreter.
